Scream Movie Trailer

In this trailer there are many ways in which the tension and the horror is created. The first point that I am going to talk about is the sound in the background of the movie trailer. The soundtrack only starts to kick in about half way through the trailer because I feel that this is meant to create reality through there not being a soundtrack and just people's voices. This also creates images in the audiences mind as they think that this could actually be real but also what is going to happen next. the voice over is going on throughout the trailer to inform the viewers what is going on but also to get them interested into the film and for them to go and watch it. I also think that it works together with the soundtrack as it also create tension and danger in the film as the voice over is very deep and scary. There are many quick cuts in the trailer which creates tension and danger when the audiecne is watching it. This will also make them scared but this can also mean that speed of the movie will increase when horrible things start to happen. This will make the audiecne aware of when these horrible things will happen in many different ways including through the type of shots that are used, the editing like the quick cuts but also the soundtrack that is being played as this will speed up. I really like this idea of lots of components working together to create this realism and danger in the trailer and making the audience aware. I think that that would be a good convention to use in my own movie trailer as i now know that i am going to be doing a horror or a thriller movie.
